    The Equity Investment Management Technology (“EIMT”) team creates and maintains software to support the research, portfolio management, and trading activities for Equity, Fixed Income, and Mutli Asset products. The successful candidate will join the EIMT - OMS (Order Management System) development team. The OMS team is responsible for delivering/maintaining software that facilitates portfolio implementation, compliance and trading workflows for a variety of instruments, namely equities, futures, options, fixed income derivatives, and FX, across both Institutional and Private client business lines.

    We are seeking a Nashville-based software developer to join our OMS team in EIMT.

     

    Describe the role:

    We are seeking a talented and energetic software engineer to join our EIMT-OMS team in the Nashville office. The successful candidate’s primary responsibility will be focused an order management system (OMS) that facilitates the firm’s institutional business.

     

    This role will be to work in an n-tier environment with .NET (C#) used for the UI and middle tier layer, and SQL Server as the database. The various responsibilities will include implementing and enhancing existing API calls, creating or enhancing UI features, implementing complex financial logic, maintaining various data loads into and out of the system, etc.

     

    The team is small and efficient and works in an agile manner. Projects are done in teams as well as individually, and there are lively discussions about design. A passion for solving real world problems and coding software is shared by all! This is a great opportunity to get in on a small but highly visible team.

     

    Describe the applications and business or enterprise functions the role supports:

    The EIMT-OMS team provides order management software for Private Client and Institutional business lines. The order management systems sit at the center of the investment process. Investment decisions are implemented via various entry points that result in orders being sent to AB’s trading desks, which are then delivered to sell-side brokers. Brokers send executions back to AB, which are funneled into the OMS, allocated to client accounts, and sent to back-office systems for settlement/clearing and booking. The OMS is a key component of the investment process and is critical to the overall order flow. Our team uses Longview Trading System (LVTS) as its OMS. The product is designed to be highly extensible and allows for unlimited additional functionality to be added at the database, middle tier, and UI levels.

     

    The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    The successful candidate’s primary focus will be enhancing and maintaining the Longview OMS. Specific tasks include, but not limited to:

    1. Understanding requirements from users and designing / implementing solutions
    2. Working with other development teams on integration efforts
    3. Non-functional projects such as code refactoring, streamlining processes, store procedure optimization, etc.
    4. Developing and maintain data feeds into and out of the

     

    Additionally, and where possible, the candidate will also help with other projects on the team, namely private-client related projects and execution management projects.

We have business analysts on the team as well as direct access to the users of the system.

    Qualifications

    Job Qualifications (The ideal candidate should have the following):

    Qualifications, Experience, Education:

    • BS in Computer Science or related field, MS in Computer Science preferred
    • 5 years’ experience with C# (preferred) or other OOP language
    • 5 years’ experience with T-SQL (SQL Server) or other SQL language
    • Understanding of financial investment systems is a plus
    • Previous experience with Linedata Longview or other vendor OMS systems is also a plus
