    Job Summary


    The Sr. Sales Development Manager for US Retail plays a key role in the vision of Alliance Bernstein US Distribution efforts, which is to become an indispensable partner to the firm’s clients by effectively connecting their top priorities with the greatest market opportunities.

    The Sr. Sales Development Manager is responsible for the development of internal and external sales associates resulting in improved performance. We are seeking an experienced sales trainer who is also skilled in developing effective sales, coaching and sales management programs and in using the requisite technology to develop and deliver programs in a live or virtual setting.


    Job Description


    Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • With the Sales Force Development Team, work closely with sales force management to deliver sales skills and line of business training and coaching to the internal and field sales force.
    • Contribute to the development of the Sales Force Development curricula and workshops to include overall strategy, content development and effective delivery of the learning experience.
    • Adapt sales program delivery to identified competencies and effective field and phone sales techniques.
    • With senior sales management, contribute to post-training skill assessments and training and coaching recommendations.
    • Partner with sales management teams to monitor, guide and coach sales team to achieve business targets, improve selling skills and productivity, and build sustainable relationships.

    Job Qualifications & Key Attributes


    The ideal candidate should have:

    • Undergraduate degree required, with MBA or other related degree preferred.
    • 5-10 years of experience in external sales and large-scale sales force development/training experience, ideally from within a large and complex global financial services organization. Relevant experience in learning and development concepts and approaches, curriculum design, and people and project management are required.
    • Series 7, 63, 24 licenses preferred.
    • Proven track record of innovative sales training solutions development.
    • Strong experience in delivering live, virtual, and blended learning.
    • High comfort level with learning technology, including mobile devices.
    • In-depth knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theory.
    • Intermediate to advanced knowledge and experience working with e-learning development software (i.e. Captivate, Articulate, Storyline).
    • Strong interpersonal skills capable of developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with a diverse group of associates at all levels within the organization.
    • Strong communication, influencing, and relationship building skills.
    • Exhibits a high level of flexibility and adaptability and can change plans or approaches as the business circumstances demand; possesses a strong self-evaluative nature and is able to accept feedback and adapt as necessary.
    • Displays a mindset and history of impeccable ethical standards.
    • Ability to quickly understand AllianceBernstein’s business, priorities, and values and convert that knowledge on a timely basis to action plans geared toward meeting corporate goals.
    • Solid work ethic, high degree of practical intelligence and integrity, proven initiative as well as excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and team-based environment, possess sound judgment, and can champion and drive change in a respectful manner.
