    Responsibilities

    The Credit team of AB Fixed Income is in search of a Head of Corporate Special Situations Investments to join their effort. The candidate will play an integral role, potentially in a leadership capacity, in the build out and team management of an opportunistic, multi-sector credit platform and is expected to focus on distressed and stressed corporate credit investments.  Prior experience across other credit sectors (i.e. ABS, structured products, EM, etc.) is not required but a positive factor given the overall mandate.

     

    Specific responsibilities may include but not be limited to:

    • Establishing and growing a distressed and stressed corporate credit investment franchise
    • Managing an initial team of 2-3 investment professionals
    • Execution of an opportunistic, multi-sector credit business strategy

    Qualifications

    AllianceBernstein (AB) is seeking an individual to play an integral role in the execution of an opportunistic, multi-sector credit business strategy with primary responsibilities for distressed and stressed corporate credit investments.  The opportunistic credit business is expected to leverage AB’s strong presence across credit asset classes (e.g. corporate, securitized, EM, etc.), credit research, capital-raising capabilities, technology and infrastructure.

     

    Candidates should possess the following attributes:

    • Highly experienced portfolio manager with successful investment track record over a credit cycle
    • Strong reputation and deep network within the corporate distressed community (e.g. investors, legal counsel, advisors, etc.)
    • Proven understanding of bankruptcy/legal issues and relevant documentation, including ability to structure bespoke solutions where required
    • Experience building teams and successfully managing talent in larger organizations
    • Prior involvement in client-facing activities related to fundraising and investment due diligence
    • Desire to grow and run an opportunistic credit business as part of a large FI organization
    • Experience and/or willingness to embrace technology and data analytics to improve the investment process and run the business efficiently

     

    Education and Experience

    • 12 years of experience in the finance industry
    • 5 years of experience in the senior leadership team of a distressed/stressed corporate credit investment business
    • Experience across other credit sectors (i.e. ABS, structured products, EM, etc.) preferred
