    Job Summary

    We are looking for an Associate Relationship Manager – Defined Contribution within our National Accounts team. This team is responsible for the home office relationships with all major retail intermediaries (i.e. broker/dealers, banks, independent brokerages, RIAs, etc.). Through these relationships, the SRG team works to promote AB’s brand, advocate the firm’s capabilities, and increase product presence within the retail marketplace.

    In coordination with the Strategic Relationship Managers, the Associate Relationship Managers’ primary function and goal is to proactively service and develop the firm’s relationships with group retirement intermediaries such as record keepers, retirement aggregators. The role entails regular interaction with intermediary firm’s many different business units, including relationship management, distribution, research, business development, operations, legal/compliance, etc. The associate acts as the liaison between those business units and other internal teams – field sales, product, marketing, portfolio management, legal, etc.


    Job Description

    Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Support client needs and manage day-to-day client requests. Liaise with various internal business units to meet those needs
    • Partner with Strategic Relationship Manager to provide business updates to partner firms – partnership priorities, key initiatives, firm updates, etc. Offer creative input on how to strengthen relationships with partner firms
    • Communicate partner firms’ investment outlooks, home office product focuses, platform updates, and new business initiatives with AB field sales team
    • Prepare for partner firm meetings and conferences – book speakers, confirm and prepare attendees, select and arrange for marketing materials and booth preparation, attend and represent on behalf of AB
    • Manage client deliverables on both a repeating and ad hoc basis – performance, sales, AUM, competitive analysis, etc.
    • Develop and maintain firm/platform/product-specific marketing material
    • Client relationship management within the CRM


    Job Qualifications & Key Attributes


    The ideal candidate should have:

    • The candidate should have a BS or BA; preferably with a background in economics, finance or business administration
    • 3 -5 years of experience in asset management; preferably the defined contribution space
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Highly organized and strong project management skills
    • Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work well under pressure
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
    • Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team setting

    Required Skills

    • Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel PowerPoint
    • Expertise in Excel is a plus
    • Series 7 & 66 licenses are required within 6 months of hire date
