    The Global Portfolio Administration department provides operational support to the firms Institutional, Private Client and Retail business channels through account transitions, account reconciliation and portfolio administration. The Account Transitions team is responsible for ensuring and maintaining the accuracy of client portfolios throughout the account transition lifecycle. The overall responsibility is to achieve operational excellence by consistently providing a superior level of service to our clients while improving efficiencies without compromising controls or risk management discipline. The Portfolio Administration team is responsible for the governance and oversight of the daily Reconciliation activities. Portfolio Administration is also responsible for retained activities including: evaluating the operational impact of tactical/strategic upgrades to AllianceBernstein’s infrastructure, client due diligence meetings, and working with internal/external audit to satisfy regulatory requirements.

    We are seeking a Nashville based Analyst to join our Account Transitions group in Investment Management Operations.


    Describe the role:
    To perform various transition and client on boarding tasks including new accounts, custodian changes, in kind movements, market openings and account closings. Within Portfolio Administration, the individual will be responsible for the governance and oversight of the daily Reconciliation activities. The individual will be expected to work as a part of a team and will need to be able to communicate effectively with various internal and external clients.

    Describe the applications and business or enterprise functions the role supports:
    The Portfolio Administration - Account Transitions team services a number of internal and external applications. On a daily basis the Analyst will use Microsoft Office; internal applications such as BOSS, SNAP, Portfolio Management System, ACE and AB Advantage, along with external applications that include Bloomberg as well as a number of custodian websites.


    The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Ownership of all operational aspects relating to account transitions; account openings, in-kind asset transfers, custodian changes and account closures
    • Communication of transition related issues and impacting events to various internal departments
    • Confirmation and processing of time sensitive events including asset transfers and local market openings
    • Daily monitoring and evidencing of oversight controls related to reconciliation
    • Working collaboratively with State Street IMS on escalation items
    • Participation in various firm initiatives and working groups
    • Participation in internal/external audit best practice discussions


    Qualifications, Experience, Education:
    The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or another relevant discipline.Has 1+ years’ experience in business operations, working with a team and meeting time sensitive deadlines. We will also consider strong candidates that are recent college graduates with internship experience.


    Our analysts typically have track records of outstanding professional performance or academic achievement, along with excellent analytical skills, financial skills, technical skills, attentions to detail and as well as strong communication skills. Candidates should have a strong ability to work and manage in a collaborative environment and to present results to both expert and non-expert audiences.
