    Job Summary

    AllianceBernstein’s Request for Proposal (RFP) team is in search of a Senior RFP writer to play an integral role in business development and client service efforts in the UK and EMEA regions through the completion of RFP, RFI, and due diligence requests for AllianceBernstein’s European-focused equity and fixed income strategies and funds. The Senior Writer will specialize in writing RFPs, RFIs, and Due Diligence Questionnaires for our European Equity and Fixed Income Platforms for institutional prospects, clients, and consultants in the region, for both traditional as well as customized mandates, as well as for Retail Bank Platforms. The Senior Writer will also be responsible for maintaining all consultant database entries for the Strategies and Funds under his/her purview.  The writer will also contribute, where needed, to the completion of other projects and requests. As a Senior RFP writer, the writer will be expected to be able to work directly and effectively with the firm’s Product Managers and Portfolio Managers to write and maintain (keep updated) original and technical product-specific content to support our European Equity and Fixed Income Platforms, and, importantly, to be able to effectively customize that content for specific sales situations as needed. As a Senior Writer, the candidate will be expected to handle a high volume of requests simultaneously and productively. Projects will be both new business development and client servicing-related. This position is located in our London office and reports to Sara Kellersman.


    Job Description

    Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Write a high volume of RFPs, RFIs, and Due Diligence Questionnaires for European Equity and Fixed Income Strategies and Funds across our global institutional and retail channels.
    • Create and maintain all European Equity and Fixed Income related RFP language and content, including investment process, research process, team information, competitive advantages, current trading strategies, trade examples, and performance attribution discussions.
    • Maintain consistent product messaging and updated product language and data in RFP Language database and on 25+ consultant and third-party databases.
    • Develop customized content to meet the needs of institutional clients, prospects, and consultants in the UK.
    • Work directly with Product Managers, Portfolio Managers, Research Heads, Traders, and others to update existing RFP language and develop new language.
    • Customize final documents to reflect a nuanced and targeted response to the specific sales opportunity.
    • Handle follow-up work associated with RFPs moving to the next phase: coordinating answers, additional information, etc.
    • Oversee production of final proposals (formatting, technical editing and reproduction).
    • Field ad-hoc questions from associates, advisors, and RFP generalists daily as needed.


    Job Qualifications & Key Attributes

    The ideal candidate should have:

    • Knowledge of the global institutional and retail markets, and the asset management industry.
    • Prior experience with European Equity and European Fixed Income services is preferred.
    • Excellent and highly productive writer of technical investment material. Must be able to handle a high volume of projects simultaneously.
    • Demonstrated desire and ability to learn technical info, including philosophy, research and investment processes of our products.
    • Knowledge of GIPS regulations, Composite requirements, and FINRA and other Fund marketing regulations.
    • Familiarity with third party platforms, such as BFinance, that are used throughout the EMEA region.
    • Detail-oriented with excellent project management and organizational skills; able to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks to ensure that complex projects are completed by deadline, with interim review steps incorporated Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a large global organization.
    • Demonstrated initiative and good judgment as well as the ability to work well under pressure and with time constraints.
    • Interest in and ability to interact directly and effectively with Sales Advisors, Portfolio Managers and other investment professionals.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, and possess the ability to quickly master internal systems and applications.
    • College education required. 7-10 years of RFP and industry experience preferred. Direct experience creating technical, strategy-focused RFP content is a significant plus.
