We are seeking a Sr. Programmer Analyst to join our D&TS team in Fixed Income Technology (FIT) at AllianceBernstein.
Describe the role:
We are looking for a well-rounded mid-level to senior developer with 3-5+ years of software development experience. Technical skills should include a combination of .NET/C#, database (Oracle and/or Sybase) programming as well as knowledge of Windows servers (IIS) and Web services (WCF). Knowledge of programming algorithms and code optimization techniques is essential.
Familiarity with financial industry and Fixed Income Markets, financial mathematics, and experience working with market data and fixed income analytics would be highly appreciated but not required.
Describe the applications and business or enterprise functions the role supports:
As being part of the team, you will be building out our strategic analytics and benchmark data services being used by Fixed Income business. This includes the calculation of security level analytics to support daily portfolio management, surveillance and risk scenario analysis, as well as ad hoc reporting against fixed benchmark data in support of pre-sales portfolio modeling and market trend analysis.
You will develop and maintain strategic benchmarks application IRA (Index Returns and Analytics), which is being used as the internal alternative to the costly vendor products and supports creation and distribution of various index data to multiple business groups.
The key job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Your primary responsibility will be to provide support for proprietary and vendor fixed income analytics and risk data used by portfolio and risk managers. This includes: supporting the full data acquisition and scrubbing process, developing/integrating with our quality control program, tuning/enhancing the existing batch stream, developing business logic enhancements to the existing analytics data, and integration with the firm’s investment management applications and data warehouses.
In addition to integrating vendor’s product(s), as a developer you will be working on enhancing and maintaining newly created internal analytics engine and will participate in developing new benchmark and reporting platform at FIT.
You will be required to develop a deep understanding of the FIT technical architecture including the database and application design, and the impact of design decisions on application performance, maintainability and data quality. The role requires writing technical and design specifications, as well as coding solutions. Person should be well versed in code maintenance and sharing best practices.
You will own and enhance IRA adding features to support hedging, return calculation in multiple currencies, issuer and country capping.
You will work with the vendors, business users (PM, Quant and Research), IT management and various IT groups to identify and document the specifications, analyze data, and develop/implement technology solutions.
