    Fixed Income Investment Technology (“FIIT”) group builds software that the Fixed Income business of AB uses in performing functions such as Fundamental Research, Quantitative research, Portfolio Management, Order Generation, Trading and Middle office and BackOffice operations. It partners with business to understand their challenges and help them by providing innovative technology solutions. We re-engineer the process where applicable in collaboration with business to help scale their business and be efficient in this dynamic market conditions. We have an in-house application that is written using C# and Windows forms called Research Analyst Portal (“RAP”) which is the primary tool for Fixed Income. We also have other vendor products which are used in part to do these functions as well.

    IT Job Description:

    We are seeking a Nashville based Senior Quality Assurance Analyst to join our Fixed Income Investment Technology team in Fixed Income.


    Describe the applications and business or enterprise functions the role supports:

    The primary project that the candidate will contribute to will be the Municipal module in RAP.  RAP already handles most of the other asset classes in the Fixed Income space and now is being enhanced to handle Municipal markets. This new module, will support Senior Portfolio Managers, Portfolio Managers, Assistant Portfolio Managers, Fundamental and Quantitative research analysts, Traders, Middle office and Operations functions.


    The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Analyzes complex functional requirements, performs research on current processes, designs test strategy and documents, and interacts with the business analyst and developer to develop test plans and test scripts
    • Plans required test data fixtures and prioritizes test scripts to ensure the most critical components of the applications are being tested
    • Leads the development of a comprehensive test strategy and works in partnership with a cross-functional team to define and complete testing deliverables
    • Reviews and validates system data and product quality to ensure system integrity and data fixtures
    • Assists in the creation and maintenance of the UI and API automated testing scripts and conducts automated testing on the most critical client-facing applications as needed
    • Develops, reviews, refines, uses and documents plans for both automated and manual functional, integration, and regression tests and assures that tests are successfully completed prior to production

    This is a unique opportunity to learn and create a major functional module which handles Portfolio Management, Order generation and Trade Execution for our rapidly growing Municipal business with over 30 billion in assets.

    Qualifications, Experience, Education:

    • BS in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Economics, related major, or relevant experience
    • 8+ years’ experience
    • Basic understanding of programming and scripting
    • Proficient in SQL and Excel



    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Analytical and problem solving skills
    • Self-starter and a team player
    • Should be able to take ownership and have strong client focus
    • Able to follow a project schedule, juggling tasks and priorities to meet rapidly changing deadlines


    Special Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of Fixed Income and Portfolio Management is an added plus
    • Experience using tools such as JIRA and ALM
