    Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced High Yield Municipal Credit Research Analyst to join our Municipal Bond group. In this role the Analyst will support various intermediate, long and individually managed municipal fund strategies, which consist of a broad range of high yield and investment grade municipal holdings. They will also be responsible for performing in depth fundamental research to develop forward looking industry and issuer-specific credit views and recommendations with a primary focus on High Yield across a range of sectors. The Analyst will work closely with the Municipal Bond portfolio management, trading, credit research, and economics research teams, as well as other investment analysts, portfolio managers, and traders across the firm.

The successful candidate will be equipped with strong fundamental research skills and a proven track record of adding performance to a high yield tax exempt portfolio. They will be intellectually curious and will adopt a rigorous approach to their analysis incorporating scenario analysis where necessary. Candidates should be creative problem solvers and either have experience with (or openness to) innovation that leverages technology and data science in the research process. They should also have strong marketing and influencing skills both in advocating investment ideas to portfolio managers and traders internally and in contributing to our ability to win and retain business externally.

    • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex data systems
    • A high level of initiative and credible influencing skills with the ability to take the lead in advocating investment ideas to portfolio managers and traders
    • Strong marketing and presentation skills with ability to lead a meeting with senior representatives of clients and prospects and to contribute to our ability to win and retain business
    • Ability to cover a range of industries and markets autonomously and to make informed decisions, often in a short time frame
