    Job Summary


    The New York client service team of AB Institutional Investments is in search of a Client Relations Associate to join their servicing effort dedicated to our Insurance General Account business. The Associate will report to the Manager of Client Relations and will support the team in continuing to foster a partnership with clients. The Institutional team focuses on delivering the full scope of the firm’s investment services to large market, private, public and Taft-Hartley pension plans; foundations and endowments; and insurance companies. The client service associate plays a key role in fulfilling the servicing needs of these clients.


    Job Description:


    Specific responsibilities may include but not be limited to:

    • Understanding our firm’s mission and values as well as product offerings in the Institutional market
    • Collaborate with other Insurance Team members to research/analyze client’s business model, portfolio, and regulatory constraints to write briefing memos
    • Proactive, thoughtful, high-quality client servicing through coordinating the following: opening/closing accounts, handling cash flows, client reporting/due diligence, customized preparation of marketing and investment presentations, troubleshooting of issues, and responding to client inquiries with a strict attention to detail and deadlines
    • Acting as a liaison with various internal and external departments including Investment Research, Marketing, Operations, Legal/Compliance, Performance and Portfolio Management
    • Interacting with existing or prospective clients to schedule meetings and calls, maintaining client relationship management database and providing reports to senior Insurance Team members on a regular basis
    • Assisting senior Insurance Team members with business development and prospecting efforts by, over time, understanding client investment positioning, client business focus and breakdown of assets
    • Desire to learn about the insurance industry
    • Coordinating submissions of RFPs by working with RFP Team and other groups internally to gather information for consultants and prospects

    AB will provide a department onboarding program. The firm also offers an on-line eLearning tool with hundreds of modules on various financial topics.


    Job Qualifications & Key Attributes


    The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting with excellence in academics. The candidate should have a minimum of 0-2 years of financial services experience in a professional capacity, focused primarily on investment, analytics, and/or within the insurance industry. The candidate should embrace a culture of relentless ingenuity, be team-oriented, client-focused, highly organized and detail-oriented with a strong ability to multi-task. In particular, candidates should also possess strong Excel skills, familiarity with PowerPoint and have strong verbal and written communication skills coupled with the confidence to thoughtfully assert his/her ideas with a broad audience. Candidate should be able to identify relevant investments and company information from 10K and other public company filings. Candidates must also demonstrate good judgment and attention to detail, have a strong sense of urgency, be able to take initiative and be proactive, and work well independently as well as within a team.


    Location: New York, NY through mid-2020, at which time the Associate will move to Nashville, TN or permanently in Nashville, TN.
