Ops Group Description:
Security Reference Management provides security data to internal clients of: Portfolio Managers, Traders, Client Reporting, Insurance Operations and Private Client for the management of client and fund investment activities. The security data is maintained on master databases which feed to trading, investment, risk and compliance applications used by internal users. The Department is responsible to ensure the security data is accurate, timely and complete to meet the needs of business activities.
A Security Reference Management Analyst maintains all security data of various security types such as Fixed Income, Equity and Derivatives that is used in multiple internal downstream applications. Security data is retrieved from outside vendors such as Bloomberg; the Analyst is responsible to ensure the security data is accurately entered/represented in our internal database prior to sending the information downstream for our internal clients. This role will be focused on Fixed Income, will primarily support the trading desk and will be very closely tied to the daily trade activity in Primary Market Issues. This Analyst will work closely with the Fixed Income Trading teams and will attend meetings with the traders (at the discretion of the trader and management). The primary responsibility of the Analyst is to setup Fixed Income New Market Issues. The Analyst will have opportunities to engage in conversation regarding Fixed Income markets with external sell side traders as well as internal Fixed Income traders, Portfolio Managers and Analyst.

More specifically, this role will sit on the Fixed Income Trading floor and will have a primary focus on New Market Issues. The role will involve working with Fixed Income Traders to ensure proper setup for acquisition of assets into portfolios and to conform to firm standards as well as meet criteria to support Pre-Trade Compliance and other similar reporting.
The candidate will be expected to manage their own career development but will receive management feedback, and learn from challenging and new assignments. They will also have the opportunity to engage in Professional Development and Financial courses which will further their growth professionally and knowledge of the Industry. This candidate will also be embedded in the Fixed Income Trading area and be involved in meetings and have very close ties to the Fixed Income Trading team.
The ideal candidate should have a 4 year degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or another relevant discipline and relevant job experience in Operations and has demonstrated delivering projects, working within a team including technology teams and meeting time sensitive deadlines. Must be a problem solver, and be able to work with a range of internal clients. The ideal candidate should also have some experience in Fixed Income Securities and middle office support activities.
