    IT Job Description:

    We are seeking a Nashville based Business Analyst to join our Business Analyst team in Client Group Technology.


    Describe the role:

    The Client Group Technology Business Analyst is responsible for providing business analyst and project management support for delivering technology and operations change for the Client Group. Through his/her role in supporting change initiatives, he/she will act as a liaison between the Client Group and our technology and operations teams.


    Describe the applications and business or enterprise functions the role supports:

    This role will primarily be broadly in support of delivering technology changes and solutions for sales enablement of the US Retail business. More specifically, the role will support the continued enhancement of AB’s Sales Intelligence Mobile Optimized Network (SIMON) app. SIMON is AB’s iPad app that provides our US retail wholesalers with unprecedented on-demand access to sales data, marketing content, product performance and competitive market analysis. The app has and will continue to transform the way AB’s wholesalers manage their business, from client interactions to identifying stronger opportunities within the sales cycle.


    The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Detailing business and non-functional requirements, defining use cases, user interfaces, and testing scenarios in collaboration with subject matter experts in the Client Group.
    • Understanding complex business requirements and translating to the technology teams.
    • Ensuring that the functional requirements defined are fully met by the solution.
    • Conducting current state systems analysis producing artifacts such as process flows, data flow diagrams, and sequence diagrams.
    • Participating in design sessions and develop future state process flows and data flows and memorialize those artifacts for the project team.
    • Producing wireframes.
    • Providing clear structure for identifying and evaluating options.
    • Managing projects, defining the scope, schedule, and resource requirements and then delivering on them.
    • Facilitating meetings, producing meeting minutes, following up on open actions and issues through the lifecycle of a project.
    • Consistently reporting back to business managers on the status of projects.
    • Working closely with Operations and Technology resources to deliver on projects.


    What makes this role unique or interesting?

    The role will provide deep exposure to the US Retail business. It will help the candidate develop business analyst and project management expertise skills, and exposure to a wide range of technologies, from MicroStrategy and business intelligence tools, data bases and data related tool sets, CRM and other sales and marketing technologies.


    Job Qualifications (The ideal candidate should have the following):

    Qualifications, Experience, Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
    • 3+ years of business analyst or technology experience
    • 3+ years of CRM experience or working with Sales teams
    • Finance, asset management experience preferred



    • Proficient with Business Intelligence concepts and toolsets, preferably MicroStrategy
    • Proficient with concepts, understanding of configuration
    • Proficient in MS Visio or other process/system modeling tools
    • Proficient in MS Excel
    • Proficient in and enjoys problem solving, critical thinking
    • Ability to communicate thoughts clearly orally and in writing
    • Ability to work independently
    • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all management levels
    • Strong communication and presentation skills
    • Client service oriented


    Special Knowledge (if applicable):

    • Experience with Business Intelligence / analytics related tools (MicroStrategy, Tableau, Qlik, etc.)
    • CRM experience, ideally
    • Knowledge of financial services
    • SQL, experience working with databases and data
