IT Job Description:
This role is for a Unix/Linux engineer. Candidates must be extremely knowledgeable in RedHat Linux and will ideally have experience with Solaris and virtualization technologies, particularly VMWare.
Preferably, they will have some experience with Cloud technologies, ideally Microsoft Azure, and will have some familiarity with Microsoft Windows server operating systems. They will possess a thorough understanding of the operational challenges and engineering principles surrounding various business computer technologies within the finance industry.
The Unix/Linux Engineer will collaborate closely with other engineering and operations teams within the organization. They will be familiar with operational disciplines such as project management, problem management and change management as well as networking, systems monitoring and multi-platform integration.
This is a hands-on position requiring a person with a great deal of systems engineering experience, together with a thorough understanding of various technology principles. The position will participate within our Engineering Round Table forum to assist in promoting technology innovation through collaborative engineering.
Additionally, in this role you will be a technical escalation point for our Unix/Linux operations team, ensuring rapid resolution of problems and executing forensic analysis as required.
